Dominant Start and Second-Half Fightback
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) returned to winning ways in Ligue 1 Uber Eats on Saturday, defeating Brest 2-1 at the Parc des Princes. After dominating the first half, PSG found themselves under pressure in the second but held on for a crucial victory.
PSG started the match brightly, controlling possession and creating several chances. Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe all had opportunities to score, but it was Mbappe who eventually broke the deadlock in the 29th minute. The French forward received a pass from Messi and fired a low shot into the corner of the net.
PSG continued to dominate the first half, but Brest came out with more intensity after the break. The visitors pulled one back in the 49th minute when Franck Honorat slotted home from close range. Brest continued to press for an equalizer, but PSG held firm.
Mbappe sealed the victory for PSG in the 73rd minute. The 24-year-old scored with a stunning free kick from 25 yards out. The goal was his 15th of the season in Ligue 1, moving him top of the scoring charts.
The win takes PSG back to the top of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table, one point ahead of Marseille. Brest remains in 16th place, just four points above the relegation zone.
