I-15 Now Open: Hazmat Situation Cleared
All Lanes Reopened After Two-Day Closure
Motorists Can Travel Freely Between Los Angeles and Las Vegas
After a two-day closure, all lanes of Interstate 15 between Los Angeles and Las Vegas have reopened as of 4:30 am Sunday.
The closure was caused by an overturned big rig and resulting hazmat situation. The incident occurred just off the freeway in the desert, leaving motorists stranded.
Crews worked around the clock to clear the wreckage and clean up the hazardous materials. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reopened all lanes to traffic once the scene was deemed safe.
Motorists are advised to use caution when driving through the area, as there may still be some debris on the roadside.
